Our rigorous academic and project-based magnet program is grounded in leadership and life skills and is supported by the wraparound services of a community school. This uniquely allows us to serve the wide learning needs of students and provide social services for families.
M.S. 582 will support students in learning, developing, and applying academic vocabulary throughout their daily learning experiences, to enhance their written and verbal communication skills.
Magnet Schools have emerged as educational beacons in
our community. We incorporate themed curricula,
hands-on projects, experiential learning, diversity in
students, and academic requirements that often exceed
those of the school district.
THE LEADER IN ME
The Leader in Me is FranklinCovey’s whole school transformation process. It teaches 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.
ST NICKS ALLIANCE
St. Nicks Alliance seeks to transform lives through
employment, education, housing, and health care,
delivering impactful services to children, adults and the
elderly with the help of our strategic partners. As a civic
anchor we carry out this mission within the context of
building a sustainable community for all people through
the arts, environmental advocacy, and urban planning.
Community schools recognize that we must support the whole child, and the child’s family, both inside and outside of the classroom. Grand Street Settlement is a Community-Based Organization that coordinates and delivers comprehensive services to support families.
GRAND STREET SETTLEMENT
For 100 years, Grand Street Settlement has connected New Yorkers to opportunities that inspire, services that keep families strong, and programs that bring communities closer. Together, we have led bold charges for change, worked to overcome obstacles like isolation and exclusion, and fought to dismantle injustices and broken systems.
NY SUN WORKS
NY Sun Works is a non-profit organization that builds innovative science labs in urban schools. Through our Greenhouse Project Initiative we use hydroponic farming technology to educate students and teachers about the science of sustainability.
For over 25 years UAP has improved academic outcomes, graduation rates, artistic growth, social-emotional learning and community engagement through our arts-integrated approach to education in and beyond the classroom. Our model takes a comprehensive approach toward 21st century college and
career-readiness, addressing the needs of students, teachers and school through in-school and out-of-school programs that deliver targeted interventions for Youth Development, Academic Enrichment, and Professional Development.
